Don Murdock

Mr. Don Murdock, age 76, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mr. Murdock was born on August 13, 1940 in Veedersburg, Indiana, to the late Forrest Byrl Murdock and Pearl Frances Rice Murdock. He was the former owner and operator of Murdock's Garage, a farmer, and later retired from Briggs and Stratton. He was an Army Veteran, a member of the Northside Baptist Church, Murray Masonic Lodge 105 F&AM, and a very avid golfer.

In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by one brother; Raymond Murdock; one sister, Marjorie Fletcher; one sister-in-law, Shirley Murdock; and one niece, Shelly Murdock.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Murdock of Murray, Kentucky, they married on June 8, 1963 in Golden Pond, Kentucky; four daughters, Nancy Overbey and husband Mickey of Murray, Kentucky, Brenda Luther and husband Morris of Murray, Kentucky, Tonya Estes of Benton, Kentucky, Rayann Butterworth and husband Jeff of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Gary Murdock of Murray, Kentucky; nine grandchildren, Tylena and Tanner Estes of Benton, Kentucky, Brian Overbey and wife Lee of Murray, Kyle Overbey of Murray, Chance Overbey of Murray, LeAnne Gibbs and husband Todd of Murray, Ellyn Luther of Murray, Lake Butterworth of Murray and Olivia Butterworth of Murray; four great grandchildren, Hunter Estes of Benton, Aiden, Audrey, and Anderson Overbey all of Murray; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Brett Miles and Rev. C.C. Brasher officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
