Donald Nelson Blalock

Mr. Donald Nelson Blalock, age 76, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.

          Mr. Blalock was born on February 9, 1947, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Nelson Blalock and Blanche (Drury) Blalock. He retired as a lineman for AT&T after 25 years of service, was a member of the First Baptist Church, and was a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam era.

          Survivors include his wife Barbara (Crouse) Blalock; they married on August 1, 1970, in Arlington, Virginia; one daughter, Holly Blalock-Herod and husband Jeffrey Herod of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Adam Blalock and wife Vicki of Robins, Iowa; two brothers, Dr. Richard Blalock and Robert “Bob” Blalock and wife Tammi both of Murray, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Ellen Blalock of Murray, Kentucky and Cecelia Blalock of Robins, Iowa; three step grandchildren, Ryan, Max, and Sarah Velo all of Iowa.

          A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. Boyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
