Mr. Donald W. Lovett, age 67, of Murray, Kentucky died on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
Mr. Lovett was born October 18, 1949 in Murray, Kentucky to the late Damon Lovett and Bobbie Laird Lovett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother in law, Hilton Williams and Sybil Simmons Williams.
Mr. Lovett was retired from Murray State University in public safety, he also worked in the Boy Scout museum, and was a cabinet and sign maker for the Curris center, and campus wide. Mr. Lovett was a member of the Williams Chapel Church of Christ, was a former president of the Murray-Calloway Co. Jaycees, Murray Calloway Co. Fair Board, and the Kentucky JCI Senate.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy W. Lovett of Murray, Kentucky, they married November 26, 1969 in Lynn Grove, Kentucky; sister, Connie Miller of Murray, Kentucky; sister in law, Susan Fisher and husband Rick of Murray, Kentucky; brothers, Randy Lovett of Nashville, Tennessee, Larry Robin Lovett and wife Cathy of Merritt Island, Florida, brothers in law, Chuck Williams and wife Twilla of Murray, Kentucky, and Greg Miller of Murray, Kentucky; nieces, Hope Hargrove of Austin, Texas, Hannah William of Murray, Kentucky and Addison Miller of Murray, Kentucky; nephew, Brennan Miller of Murray, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Chris Beauford and David Williams will officiate. Entombment will follow services in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
