Mr. Donald L. Stom, age 80, of Murray passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Tennessee State Veteran’s Home in Humboldt, TN. He retired from the A.N.R. Pipeline Company based in Cottage Grove, TN after 32 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and also a member of the Russell’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Sue Stom of Murray, KY; three sons, Michael (Debbie) Stom, Monty Stom and special friend Reva Miller, and James T. “Bubba” (Wina) Nance, all of Murray, KY; two sisters, Henryetta Camp and Leola (Ray) Lafser both of Murray, KY; a brother, Mitchell (Carolyn) Stom of Kirksey, KY; six grandchildren, Nikki Stom, Shelby Brittian, Parker Nance, Carlie Nance, Dillion Nance, Addicen Nance, and Chris Swift; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Michael Swift; extended family: Jace Hollen and Will Schwettman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Stom was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mable Donna Jones Stom; a son, Marty Lynn Stom; and a sister, Earleen Thurmond.
Memorial Services for Donald L. Stom will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010 at The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray, KY with Bro. Roy Yoakem officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
