Donnie Ray Cohoon

Mr. Donnie Ray Cohoon, age 69, of Murray, Kentucky died Saturday, October 04, 2014 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
Mr. Cohoon was born in Calloway County Kentucky on April 15, 1945 to the late John Edwin Cohoon and Maudeen Marie (Dowdy) Cohoon. Mr. Cohoon had retired from the National Guard after 40 plus years and later retired from the Kenlake State Resort Park as a chef after 30 years; currently a paper carrier and longtime employee of the Murray Ledger and Times. Mr. Cohoon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Murray.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cohoon was preceded in death by one son, Danny Joe Hutson.
Mr. Cohoon is survived by his wife, Sara Cohoon of Murray, to whom he married on November 25, 1977; one son, Donnie Hutson and wife Lisa of Murray, Kentucky; three brothers, Joe Pat Cohoon and wife Cyndi of Murray, Kentucky, Teddy Cohoon and wife Shelia of Florida, and John Mark Cohoon and wife DeeDee of Murray, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Danny Joe Hutson and Donny Hutson, Jr. both of Murray, Kentucky; three nephews, ViJay Cohoon of Florida, Damon Cohoon of Columbus, Ohio and John Robert Cohoon of Murray, Kentucky; as well as one aunt, Rose Ellis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. John Denham officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Mark Cohoon, Joe Pat Cohoon, Teddy Cohoon, Donnie Hutson, Danny Hutson, and Roy Molampy.
