Donnie "Sarge" Tipton

Mr. Donnie G. (Sarge) Tipton Sr. age 66, of Mayfield, Ky., formerly of Murray, Ky., died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital.
Mr. Tipton was born January 16, 1947 in Irvin, Ky., to the late Robert and Hazel Muncie Tipton. He was retired from the Murray Lumber Co. after 40 years of service, and he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by three daughters, Paula Gayle Tipton of Murray, Donna Lynn Hughes and husband Chad of Hazel, Ky., and Amy Leann Patterson and husband Scottie of Murray, two sons, Donnie G. Tipton Jr. of Murray, and Jamie Paul Tipton and wife Brittany also of Murray, three sisters, Deborah Sosh McKnought of Owensboro, Ky., Lee Rice of Boca Raton, Fla. and Lucy Tipton Taylor of Mayfield, Ky., three brothers, Jim Tipton of Murray, Charles Tipton of Murray, and Lennie Tipton of Cincinnati, Oh., also eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild survive, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tipton was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Cunningham Tipton.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Bro. John Sales will officiate and burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
