Dora Ann Jones

Mrs. Dora Ann Jones, age 90, of Murray, Kentucky, died, Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her daughters home in Gilbertsville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Jones was born in Trigg County, Kentucky on May 28, 1922 to the late Thomas M. Travis and Florence L. Jones Travis. Mrs. Jones retired from Seger Glove Co. after twenty two years. She was a member of the Dexter Pentecostal Church and was a member of the Eastern Star Murray Lodge.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Jones, who died on January 6, 1987; one daughter, Ann LaVerne Jones; two sons, Bert Jones and Alton Jones; three sisters, Audrey Horton, Treva Graziana and Mary Higgins; one brother, Melton Travis; two half-brothers, Kelsey Travis and Lee Travis; and one grandson, Bradley Jones.

Mrs. Jones is survived by four daughters, Brenda K. Joyce and husband Raymond of Mesquite, Texas, Izetta Eldridge and husband Larry of Murray, Loretta McDermott of Paducah, Kentucky and Cathy Steward and husband Joey of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; two sons, Ned Jones and wife Teresa of Hazel, Kentucky and Delmer Jones and wife Shirley of Murray; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Elijah Balentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Matheny Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
