Mrs. Doris Alexander, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky, died, Monday, February 6, 2012 at 8:10 pm in the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
She was born on May 10, 1928 in Louisville, KY. To the late Omer J. Snyder and Hazel Mathis Snyder. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church where she served on the administrative board. She also attended Murray State University, and was a volunteer at the Calloway County Hospital Auxiliary for approximately 25 years.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by one daughter, Cindi Wilham (Buz) of Paducah, KY, one son, David Alexander (Sandy) of Dallas, TX, six grandchildren, Tyler Wilham, of Louisville, Ky., Dane Wilham (Mindy) and Tressa Wilham, both of Paducah, KY, Rex Alexander of Washington, D.C., Bret Alexander of Los Angeles, Ca., Troy Alexander of Dallas, Tx. and two great-grandchildren, Alex Wilham and Grayson Wilham, both of Paducah, Ky.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alexander is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Rex E. Alexander, and one grandchild, John David Wilham.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Dye officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the J. H. Churchill Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m., and at the First United Methodist Church on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 10-11 a.m.
