Doris Garland

Mrs. Doris Marie Garland, age 81, of Murray, passed away Monday, November 01, 2010, at 2:15 p.m. at Spring Creek Health Care.
She was a retired hairdresser, and original operator of Doris Beauty Salon, member of the North Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Born Sept. 4, 1929 in Calloway Co., Ky.
She is survived by one son, Michael H. Garland of Murray, Ky., sister, Shirley Shelton (Jimmy) of Mayfield, Ky., step sister, Vannetta Bullard (Homer) of Murray, Ky., sister in law, Doris Jean Watkins of Dexter, Ky., four grandchildren, Tammy Thompson (Michael) of Murray, Ky., Cynthia McCubbin (William) of Campbellsville, Ky., Chris Garland (Shanna) of Bowling Green, Ky., Tonya Williams (Danny) of Farmington, Ky. also eight great grandchildren, Hayden McCubbin, Ashton Williams, Aleesa Williams, Hunter Williams, Sarah Thompson, Rachel Thompson, Camille Garland, and Blair Crouch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Robbie Johnson Watkins, daughter, Donna F. Garland, brothers, Hugh Neal, Glen, Joe, and Harry Watkins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Kerry Lambert will officiate, and burial will be in the North Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
