Mrs. Doris Fair Rose age 94, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Murray, Ky., died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Meadowview Nursing and Rehab, in Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. Rose was born November 4, 1918 in Murray, Ky., to the late Cordis B. and Bessie Houston Fair. She was a homemaker, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Murray, being a member of the Choir for 30 years, and the Dorcas Sunday school class. Mrs. Rose was an avid golfer and bridge player, and had a great passion for ballroom dancing. She played the piano by ear, with music being a very big part of her life. Doris radiated a beautiful spirit, and was loved by everyone who knew her.
Survivors include one daughter, Jane Rose-Zupetz and husband Charles of Louisville, Ky., three sons, Jerry A. Rose and wife Janis of Knoxville, Tn., James Rose and wife Myrta of New Albany, In., Dr. John F. Rose and wife Tina of Louisville, Ky., also nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren survive.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Allen Brown Rose, three brothers, Leo, Ralph, and Hollis Fair, also one grandchild, Wesley Rose.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Boyd Smith will officiate, and burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
