Mrs. Dorothy Moore Farris Wagar, 90, of Murray, KY, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital. Mrs. Wagar was born in Calloway Co. ,KY on November 2, 1920 to the late Guy E. Moore and Cora Etta Bazzell Moore. Mrs. Wagar retired from the Department of Human Resources with the state of Kentucky. Mrs. Wagar was the oldest member of the Coles Campground United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Wagar was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Leon Farris; second husband, Murl Wagar; one sister, Louise Moore Plymale; nine brothers, Bob Moore, Cleatus Moore, Ortis Moore, Douglas Moore, Jesse Moore, Coy Moore, Aubrey Moore, Elwood Moore and Preston Moore; one grandson, Ricky Dale Moss; and one granddaughter, Anna Renee Owen Moore.
Mrs. Wagar is survived by four daughters, Dottie L. Farris of Murray, Audrey M. Farris of Mayfield, KY, Glenna K. Gant and husband Philip of Murray and Marietta F. Blanchard and husband Al of Charlestown, NH; one son, Ronald G. Farris of Benton, KY; five grandchildren, Randy L. Montgomery, Michael G. Montgomery and wife Tammy, Felesia M. Kimbro, Terry N. Moss and Matt Hoggard; nine great grandchildren, Alexandria Montgomery, Brandon Montgomery, Marcie Montgomery, Bryan Montgomery, Mickey Montgomery, Amber Hall, Jeremy Kimbro, Isabell Blanton and Raeanne Moss; six great-great grandchildren; five step grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Moore of Oneida, KY; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Goshen Cemetery with Rev. Howard Welch officiating. Burial to follow. Visitation will be held from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
