Dortha 'Marcella' Hicks

Dortha "Marcella" Hicks, 86, of Shoemaker Road, Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Baptist Health, Paducah, Kentucky.

She was born Sept. 25, 1929, in Arlington, Kentucky to Roy Maxey and Beatrice McGee Maxey. She was married to Milford Leon Hicks for 55 years. She was a member of New Providence Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Mrs. Hicks is survived by two daughters, Carol Boswell and husband Roy and Linda Orten and husband Ron, all of Murray; five grandchildren, April Cothran and husband Eric of Prospect, Kentucky; Kristol Skipper and husband Jason of Birmingham, Alabama; Misty Guthrie and husband Kenneth of Murray; Michael Hicks and wife Michelle of Murray and Eric Hicks of Murray and 10 great-grandchildren: Tristan, Taylor, Madison, Lily, Abby, Preston, Kary, Savannah, Micah and Kaylee.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hicks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Providence Church of Christ, 60 Christian Lane, Hazel, KY 42049.
