Duane Hamilton Lowry

Duane Hamilton Lowry passed away in Florence, Kentucky on the afternoon of December 21, 2023, after a short illness.  Duane was seventy-eight years old.

Duane, who grew up in Murray, graduated from Murray State University with a master’s degree in business administration.  He worked for McKay Corporation in Florence as a Marketing Director for many years prior to his retirement.  Duane was an avid golfer and loved playing with friends in his spare time.

Duane was the son of the late Dr. C.C. and Betty Lowry from Murray.  He is survived by his sister, Conie Lowry Abernathy of Covington, Louisiana, his nephew, Sloan Lowry Abernathy, Sr. and wife Dial Morrison Abernathy, his grandnieces, Conie Elizabeth (“Ibby”) Abernathy, Rosa Gray (“Roe”) Abernathy, and his grandnephew, Sloan Lowry Abernathy, Jr., all of whom live in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Duane was deeply caring and stayed very close with his loved ones.  He will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 am at Murray Memorial Gardens.
