Mrs. Edrie Goret Singleton, age 91, of Calloway Avenue, Murray Kentucky, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Murray Calloway County Hospital. Born in Girard, Kansas on April 26, 1918 to the late Samuel J. and Natalie Marie Chaussard Goret.
Mrs. Singleton retired from Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah, KY, as an administrative assistant. A member of the First Christian Church in Murray, as well as being a member of the C.W.F. (Christian Women’s Fellowship). Mrs. Singleton was also a WWII Army Veteran.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Singleton was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma Langan, Rosalie Fedell and Sylvia Stakvill, also by two brothers, Garland and Adrian Goret.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. (Bob) Singleton, and daughter, Vicki Singleton both of Murray. Mr. and Mrs. Singleton were married on July 14, 1944 in Chicago, ILL, while previously meeting in the Army.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ruth Ragovin officiating. Visitation will be held also on Sunday, from 12:30 p.m. – until 2:00 p.m. at The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
