Mr. Edward John Riddle, age 72, of Murray, Kentucky died on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James Curtis Riddle and Bertha Wilhelmina Wanzung Riddle. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict and later retired from the Air Force after twenty years.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Lynn Riddle, to whom he married on May 30, 1970 in Hazel Crest, Illinois; two daughters, Dana Lynn Riddle Phillips of Murray, Kentucky and Catherine Newell and husband Wayne of Oakland, Tennessee; one son, Paul Edward Riddle of Paris, Tennessee; one sister, Janice DeLeon and husband Jesse of Hobart, Indiana; two brothers, Ronald Riddle and wife Tracy of Lacy, Washington and Michael Riddle of Downers Grove, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Shayla Phillips of Farmington, Kentucky, Dylan Phillips of Fort Carson, Colorado, Caden Phillips, Karla Kitchen, Kaelyn Riddle, J Daniel Stepp and Keige Riddle all of Murray, Kentucky, Lacy Boldrey Scarbrough of Arlington, Tennessee and Lindsey Boldrey of Oakland, Tennessee; also surviving is four great-grandchildren, Rilynn Jean Rule of Farmington, Kentucky, Layla Rose Scarbrough of Arlington, Tennessee, Baileyan Pannell and Annalyn Pannell of Oakland, Tennessee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray, Kentucky. A private family service will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky with full military honors.
Expressions of sympathy can be made as memorial donations to a VFW Post or an American Legion Post of your choice in honor of Mr. Edward John Riddle.
