Elizabeth Jeanette Egan born December 22, 1929 in Tulsa, OK, to Mildred Virginia Lewis and Guy Victor Lewis Sr., has gone to be with Our LORD on February 15, 2017. She was surrounded by her family at home when she went to heaven. She was raised in Wetumka, OK, Fairview, OK and then New Mexico. She then moved with her parents to Long Beach, CA. She attended and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, CA. Out of high school she married Charles Barrett in 1948. They had three sons together; Carl, John, and Dale Barrett. This marriage ended after 20 years. She worked as customer service and secretary for Industrial tools and United Sierra in California. She also worked for Ennis Business Forms as a secretary and was also customer service. After a period of time she married Richard (Dick) Egan, and they were married for 30 years until Dick went to be with the Lord. She then moved to Murray, KY to be with her sons and daughter in laws. She had been a member of First Baptist Church in Downey, CA, Eastwood Baptist Church in Medford, OR, and then after she moved to Murray, KY she became a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday school and lead the church prayer group. She said she never met a stranger and loved her Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Lewis, her brother Don Lewis, and her husband Richard Egan. She is survived by her three sons Carl, John, and Dale Barrett and their wives Lou, Sue, and Valerie Barrett and five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Ison officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
