Ella Mae Colister

Mrs. Ella May Colister, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Murray; she was retired from Briggs & Stratton.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 18, 1932 to the late Raymond and Martha Johnson Spillman. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband Linn Carl Colister who died June 1, 2006; two sisters, Edith Carver and Mary Cann; one brother, Jack McCauley.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Layton of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, Edward Brunton of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Timothy Brunton and wife Hope of Melford, Kansas; two sisters, Ruth Parr and husband Dick of Westerville Ohio and Betty Shade of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Carl McCauley and wife Chieco of Columbus, Georgia and Raymond Spillman and wife Donna of Columbus Ohio; seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Bob Saywell will officiate. Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Spring Hill Cemetery, in Nashville, Tn. Visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
