Ethel Lassiter Johnson

Mrs. Ethel Lassiter Johnson, age 97, of Murray, Kentucky died Monday, August 14, 2017 at Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray, Kentucky.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on December 30, 1919 to Frank and Alice Barnett Lee. She was a member of the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a retired LPN, at the Murray – Calloway Hospital, with 35 years of service.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by two nieces, Helen Brooks of Dexter, Kentucky and Alice Phelps of Louisville, Kentucky; one nephew, Martin Wells and wife Faye of Summerville, South Carolina; two niece-in-laws, Debbie Lassiter of Murray, Kentucky and Jo Jordan of Jackson, Tennessee; one brother-in-law, R.G. Johnson and wife of Dawson Springs, Kentucky; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Richard Lassiter; her husband of 14 years, Jewell Johnson; and her four sisters, Annie Cathey, Hattie Ragsdale, Lavie Phelps and Gertie Wells all of Calloway County.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Gary Vacca and John Dale officiating. Burial will follow in the Coles Campground Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until funeral hour at the funeral home.
