Mrs. Eva Grey Atkins Lehman of Murray and Birmingham, Michigan died at her home on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Nolen and Lucille Atkins of Murray. Mrs. Lehman owned a farm that has been in her family for over one-hundred years, in the Elm Grove area of Murray. She was baptized at Elm Grove Baptist Church in Murray and was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Birmingham, Michigan where the Reverend Whitfield and Mrs. Judy Whitfield were beloved friends.
She is survived by her loving husband J. Gaylord Lehman, of Birmingham, Michigan, daughter Cynthia Grey Symington, granddaughter Aimee Symington, grandson-in-law George Husk and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Luke Husk, all from Davidson, North Carolina. She also leaves her three step-children, Mrs. Joy DeMark, Mr. Judson Lehman and Mr. Jon Lehman and her dear "sister" Mrs. Betty Sue Vinson of Murray, and her "nephew" Mark Alan Vinson of Memphis. Mrs. Lehman leaves behind her Atkins cousin's Margaret Ruth Elder, Mrs. Jessie Fengler, Mrs. Katherine Lemorand and Nancy, Nita, Bobby, Ricky and Jerry Atkins. Also a cousin from Paducah, Mrs. Martha Lindsey. She too is survived by Mrs. Dorothy McNabb of Murray and Mr. Gerald Paschall of Hazel, Kentucky and many beloved cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on May 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to funeral services from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until funeral hour at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery.
