Evelyn Louise Jones

Mrs. Evelyn Jones, 89, of Murray, died Friday, August 26, 2011 at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Jones was born in Lynn Grove, KY on February 25, 1922 to the late Carl C. Lockhart and Clover Starks Lockhart. Mrs. Jones received her Bachelor's Degree from Murray State University and received her Medical Technician License while in Louisville, KY. Mrs. Jones also received the Murray Rotary Club 2011 Humanitarian Award. Mrs. Jones was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Woman's Tucker - Frost Circle, a twenty five year member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), the Murray Woman's Club Creative Arts Department, as well as a member of the Murray Country Club, where she was an avid golfer.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by one daughter, Janith Louise Wilson and one sister, Sue Lockhart Kennedy.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Dr. Conrad Jones of Murray, to whom she was married to on December 26, 1942 in Murray, KY; one daughter, Nancy Jones Haverstock and husband Gary of Murray; six grandchildren, Richard Wilson and wife Amanda, Brad Wilson and wife Kelly, Haley Haverstock, Kaylin H. Weber and husband Chris, Sean Haverstock and wife Kim and Ryan Haverstock; as well as seven great grandchildren, Aliza Wilson, Carter Wilson, Chandler Wilson, Caroline Weber, Charlotte Weber, Lane Haverstock and Nick Kokoski.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Dye officiating. Burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until funeral hour on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the funeral home.
