Mrs. Evelyn Dell Cain Jones, age 91, of Murray, Kentucky, died Thursday, September 10, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Jones was born May 27, 1924 in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Ollus L. Cain and Lydia Stephenson Cain. She was a Salesperson with Murray Sewing Center, was a member of the Theta Department of the Murray Woman's Club. Mrs. Jones was also a member of the First Baptist Church, the Be One Sunday School Class, and was co-founder of the Bereavement Committee at the First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband Alvis Jones, three sisters, Estelle Cunningham, Etoille Ray and Reva Mae Riley, seven brothers, Ben Cain, O.L. Cain, Lurwin Cain, Edwin Cain, Alton Cain, Jack Cain and Fred Cain.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Bell and husband Larry of Murray, Lisa Skinner and husband Mike of Aiken, South Carolina, two sons, Tom Jones and wife Vicki of Jackson, Tennessee, Eddie Jones and wife Poppy of Gilbertsville, Kentucky, two sister in laws, Laverne Cain, Murray, Kentucky, Vanetta Cain of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Nine grandchildren survive, Doug Bell of Murray, Carrie Bell Whitaker, Lowes Kentucky, Trey Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer Jones Bard of Jackson, Tennessee, Ross Jones of Paducah, Kentucky, Molly Jones of Clarksville, Tennessee, Ben Skinner of Savanah, Georgia, Catherine Skinner Jordan of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Elizabeth Skinner Morris, of New Ellenton, South Carolina, Eleven great grandchildren survive, Dylan and Lydia Bell of Murray, Levi and Anna Whitatker of Lowes Kentucky, Graham and Conner Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, Blake and Jackson Bard of Jackson, Tennessee, Tyler and Millie Jones of Paducah, Kentucky and Price Jordan of Charlotte, South Carolina. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Boyd Smith and Rev. Bob Saywell and Rev. Keith Inman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 5-8p.m at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
