Mrs. Frances Duff Hamilton Matarazzo, age 93, of Murray, Kentucky died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murray were she was a member of the Presbyterian Woman; she graduated from Transylvania University with a degree in Mathematics and English later earning her Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky; during WWII she taught Pre-flight Airman mathematics as part of their flight training; she spent 45 years teaching in public schools teaching in Elizabethtown High School, Fort Knox High School, Murray State University and Murray High School; she was a member of the Zeta Department of the Murray Women's Club, as well as Delta Delta Delta, Delta Kappa Gamma, The Rose and Garden Club and The Retired Teachers Association.
She was born in Columbia, Kentucky on April 28, 1921 to the late Orest Cecil and Ruth Duff Summers Hamilton. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Cecil Hamilton.
She is survived by her husband, Salvatore M Matarazzo of Murray, Kentucky; they were married in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on August 21, 1949; two daughters, Mary Duff Bryant and husband William, Sally Clay Hopkins and husband Warren; four grandchildren, Matthew William Bryant and wife Sienna, Amelia Ruth Bryant Shakocius and husband Steve, Robert Keith Hopkins and wife Brandy and Daniel James Hopkins; two great grandchildren, Fionia Frances Bryant and Porter Matthew Bryant.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am till service hour at the church on Saturday.
