Mr. Frank Allen Pool, age 81, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, Kentucky.
Frank was born February 8, 1935, he was the only baby in the Murray Hospital when it burned in February of 1935.
His parents who preceded him in death were Rubye Keeny and Kirk A. Pool. Also preceding him in death were his father-in-law, Kenton White and mother-in-law, Blaine Adams White.
He is survived by his wife Maxine White Pool. They were married on August 13, 1955 in Calloway County, Kentucky. Also surviving are two children, Virginia "Jenne" Lynn Pool of Huntsville, Alabama and Allen White Pool and wife Veronika of Bloomington, Indiana.
Frank was a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was a loyal supporter of the University of Kentucky basketball program. He began his career with the Paducah Atomic Plant and later transferred to Oak Ridge, Tennessee Y-12 plant.
In 1963 he became the plant project engineer for GAF (later ISP) in Calvert City, Kentucky. He worked for this company for 33 years. He was known for his meticulous attention to detail in all his engineering and other work projects.
Frank was a faithful member of the Green Plain Church of Christ, serving for decades as a Bible teacher, song leader, deacon, and later as an elder.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Green Plain Church of Christ with John Dale, Hayes Grady, and Jonnie Hutchison officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Plain Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
