Mr. Franklin Ray Rushing age 84, of Murray, Ky., died Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Murray Calloway Co. Hospital.
Mr. Rushing was born in Almo, Ky. on November 5, 1929 to the late Loy Rushing and Inez Coursey Rushing Thweatt.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his step-father, Willard Thweatt, one brother, Edward Rushing, one sister, Katie Garner, and half-brother, Joe Pat Thweatt.
He was retired from the Murray Division of Tappan where he was also Union President. He was also a member of Hickory Grove Church of Christ. Mr. Rushing also trained, hunted and sold bird dogs for 60 years as a passion and business for him.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Rushing, of Murray Ky, to whom he was married on October 2, 1970, three sons, Charles Rushing and wife Teresa, Paul Rushing and wife Sandy, both of Almo, Ky, and Stan Rushing and wife Sheila, of McKinney, Tx., as well as four grandchildren, Julie Rushing, of Almo, Ky, Shawna Rushing Munger and husband Blake, of Almo, Ky, Chase Rushing, of Dallas, Tx., Shantell Jenkins and husband Eric, of Frisco, Tx., and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill funeral Home with Bro. Bill Miller officiating, burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
