Galen (Tripp) Miller Thurman III

Mr. Galen (Tripp) Miller Thurman III, age 66, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Mr. Thurman was born on December 16, 1951 in Murray, Kentucky to the late Galen Miller Thurman Jr. and Rosemary Jeffrey Thurman. He graduated Murray State University in 1974 with a bachelor's degree. He retired with the city of Murray and was retired as an Executive Director for the Murray Calloway County Senior Citizens Center as well. Mr. Thurman was of the Christian faith and a member of the Rotary Club of Murray.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters, Gail Hendon and Anne Thurman.

Survivors include two sons, Matthew Thurman of Madison, Alabama and Duncan Thurman of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Bob Thurman and wife Teresa of Murray, Kentucky; one grandchild, Kaylee Thurman of Goshen, Alabama; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with burial following in the Murray City Cemetery. John Dale will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
