Gary L. Crass

Mr. Gary L. Crass, age 71, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.

Gary was born on August 6, 1953, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Maurice (Sonny) Crass, Jr. and the late Betty Jo Lester Crass. He was the owner of G&C Storage and Propane for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Murray.

Gary was a loving husband, father, and friend. He had a deep love for the outdoors. He spent countless hours hunting and was an incredibly talented fisherman. He qualified for the Redman All-American Tournament, where the top 50 fisherman in the U.S. competed. His love for the water was evident, as he spent most of his life on Kentucky Lake. Fishing was truly a passion of his.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Krista (Maupin) Crass of Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Catherine Crass Gonzalez (Mike) of Pflugerville, Texas; one son, Gary F. Crass of Murray, Kentucky; granddaughter, Rylee Jo Gonzalez of Pflugerville, Texas; grandson, Austin Hayes Gonzalez of Pflugerville, Texas; sister, Gay Suiter (Phil) of Brentwood, Tennessee; nephew, Matt Robison (Tonya) of Louisville, Kentucky; nieces, Kellyn Robison of Nashville, Tennessee, Samantha Hightower (Matt) of Tallahassee, Florida and Sarah Sims of Murray, Kentucky; uncle, Richard (Dick) Lester of Princeton, Kentucky; one life-long best friend, whom he considered a brother, Steve Pember of Murray, Kentucky; and the best dog, Lucy. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
