Glen "Bud" Gibbs

Mr. Glen "Bud" Gibbs, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky died Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:20 p.m. at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
Mr. Gibbs was born in Calloway County Kentucky on September 26, 1934 to the late Virgil N. Gibbs and Rachel Barber Gibbs. Mr. Gibbs was a groceryman and later retired as custodian at the University Church of Christ in Murray after 14 years of service. Mr. Gibbs was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ there he had served as deacon and was active in the Caring and Sharing Program at the church. Mr. Gibbs was an Army veteran.
In addition to his parents Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Morris and Jean Woods.
Mr. Gibbs is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Wilson Gibbs of Murray, Kentucky, to who he married on June 14, 1959; two sons, Glen W. Gibbs and wife Debbie and Jody H. Gibbs and wife Bridget all of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Dwain Gibbs and wife Sherry of Murray, Kentucky; one aunt, Ann Hays of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Justin Gibbs and wife Cindy, Cody Gibbs and wife Amber, Connor Gibbs, Kaitlin Gibbs and Todd Gibbs and wife Leanne; two great grandchildren, Lilly G. Gibbs and Brady T. Gibbs; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery with John Dale and Jason Hart officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 prior to the graveside service from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
