Mrs. Glynda Sue Black, age 81, of Murray, Kentucky died on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky.
She was the co-owner of Black's Decorating Center; she was an avid fisherwoman and member of the Bass N Gals fishing club; she was of Methodist faith.
Glynda was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on September 21, 1937 to the late Eldridge and Oleta Burton Swift. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald Swift and Henry Swift.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos Black Jr of Murray, Kentucky in who she married in Corinth, Mississippi on January 26, 1957; one daughter, Cindy Forth and husband Tim of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Keith Black of Clifton, Virginia; two sisters, Leta Taylor and husband Jerry of Mayfield, Kentucky and Freda Spann and husband Buddy of Cadiz, Kentucky; three brothers, Harold Swift and wife Marilyn of Murray, Kentucky, Robert Swift and wife Gay of Murray, Kentucky and Dale Swift and wife Amy of Almo, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Clint Forth of Murray, Kentucky, Brittney Bunch and husband Joe of Wingo, Kentucky and Chandler Black of Clifton, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Frances Swift of Mayfield, Kentucky.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2019 in the Murray City Cemetery. John Dale will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 for 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
