Grace Mattox

Mrs. Grace Mattox, age 87, of Murray, Kentucky, died Friday, May 04, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Mattox was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 09, 1931 to the late Walter Vernon Spurlock and Gertie Emma Balay Spurlock. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chapel Rock Christian Church.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Mattox is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kenneth Mattox; one son, Frankie Lee Mattox; two daughters, Jo Ellyn Mattox Russell and Barbara Elaine Mattox; two sisters, Letha Pearl Balay Vogus, and Ruth Ellyn Schenck; as well as two brothers, Rollie Chester Spurlock and Robert Vernon Spurlock.

Mrs. Mattox is survived by one son, Jay Morgan Mattox of Indianapolis, Indiana; two sisters, Harriette Ward of Clayton, Indiana and Ethel Spurlock of Monrovia, Indiana; one brother, Dave Spurlock of Coatesville, Indiana; six grandchildren, Chris Russell and wife Megan of Murray, Kentucky, Cynthia Russell of Murray, Kentucky, Benjamin Hatfield of Murray, Kentucky, Emma Hatfield of Murray, Kentucky, Tony Mattox of McKenzie, Tennessee, and Chelsea Anne Mattox of Olive Branch, Mississippi; three great-grandchildren, Aiden Russell of Murray, Kentucky, Reannon Nance of Murray, Kentucky, and J.C. Russell of Murray, Kentucky; as well as three great-great-grandchildren, Lilyann Ramos, Adalynn Ramos, and Juliann Ramos all of Murray, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. April Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be held 11a.m. till 2p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at the Lincoln Memory Gardens in Indianapolis, Indiana.
