Gracie Lee Hopkins

Mrs. Gracie Lee Hopkins, age 88, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Friday, December 10, 2021, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.

Mrs. Hopkins was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on May 14, 1933, to the late Bonnie and Delcie Crass. Mrs. Hopkins worked at and retired from Murray State University bookstore. She was a lifelong member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hopkins was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Ichmel "Newell" Hopkins, of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Jimmy David Hopkins; two brothers, Homer Crass and Howard Crass. Mrs. Hopkins is survived by two sons, Newell Wayne Hopkins and wife, Cynthia, of Paducah, Kentucky and Roger Phillip Hopkins and wife, Leisa, of Murray, Kentucky. Survivors also include three grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services with John Dale, Steven Hunter and Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
