Gretchen Lynn Walker

           Mrs. Gretchen Lynn Walker, age 48, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away, Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House in Murray, Kentucky. 

          Mrs. Walker was born on July 30, 1975, in Carrollton, Kentucky. She was a National Board Certified second grade teacher and reading specialist at East Calloway County Elementary School. Mrs. Walker was of the Christian Faith.

          She was preceded in death by her son, Alexander Augustus Akers; mother, Sharon Lynn Clifton; and brother, Adam Ray Clifton.

          Survivors include her husband, Chris Walker of Murray, Kentucky; one daughter, Ava Malynn Akers; one son, Jackson Erik Akers; bonus daughter, Ally Walker LaFrance of Benton, Kentucky; father and stepmother, Dennis Ray Clifton and Janet Clifton of Union, Kentucky; step sister, Melanie Gayhart; step brother, Jay Louden. In addition to her family, Gretchen leaves behind Hayden Arant, Luis Lira, and Logan McKnight, cherished as sons; and her 'Elephant' sisters, Ashli Gore, Susan Miles, Jeannie Russell, Ashley Smith, and Shelley Stillwell.

          A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Kenlake Resort State Park Garden Room. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Kenlake Resort State Park Garden Room.
