Harley T. Emmons

September 20, 1930 — February 8, 2015

Mr. Harley T. Emmons, age 84, of Murray, Kentucky died on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Emmons was the son of the late Thomas P. and Sallie B. (East) Emmons of Richmond, Kentucky. He served 4 years during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. Mr. Emmons graduated from Eastern Kentucky University after he was honorably discharged from the service. He taught school for 7 years in Eastern Kentucky, Indiana and in Cincinnati, Ohio. He then worked for the Social Security Administration in Kentucky, Florida and Tennessee and retired from the Lexington, Kentucky office in 1989.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Murray Memorial Gardens with Terry Moore officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home from 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
