Mr. Harold Dean “Speedy” Jones, age 85, the legend passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Baptist Health in Paducah, Kentucky.

 

Speedy was born on April 29, 1938, in Calloway County, Kentucky, to the late Alfred and Gladys Miller Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Danny Jones; sister-in-law, Brenda Jones; and brother-in-law, Kenny Hale.

 

Speedy was a brick mason and farmer, and a member of the Brooks Chapel United Methodist Church. He always had stories to tell about others, or others had stories to tell about him.

 

Survivors include his loving wife, Nettie Weatherly Jones; daughter, Shannon Grise and husband Bill; son, Shawn Jones and wife Leanna; sister, Bonita Hale; brother, Jerry Jones; four grandchildren, Amber Jones, Zach Grise and wife Mandy, Alex Grise and wife Ali and Allison Brazelton and husband Patrick; also, seven great grandchildren.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Brooks Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Richard Burkeen officiating.
