Mr. Harold Brent Phillips, age 83, of Murray, Kentucky died at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky on Saturday, December 09, 2017.
Mr. Phillips was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on April 13, 1934 to the late Earnest Woodrow Phillips and Cozy Mavis (Outland) Phillips. Mr. Phillips before retiring was an auto detailer. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He served as an airborne infantryman and was known for his excellent marksmanship. During this time, he was on the competition rifle team and travelled all over Europe for marksmanship competitions.
In addition to his parents Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by three sisters, Ernestine Norman, Juanita Herndon and Marion Phillips; and by four brothers, R.J., Mozelle, Edward and Joe Phillips.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife, Faye Phillips of Murray, Kentucky to whom he married on May 19, 1962 in Murray; one daughter, Lisa Allbritten and husband Keith of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one son, Kevin Phillips of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Evelyn Koerber and husband Glen of Livonia, Michigan and Hazel Ray of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Garvin Phillips of Murray, Kentucky; as well as three grandchildren, Adam Allbritten and wife Ashley of Augusta, Georgia, Ellen Arnold and husband Aaron of Nashville, Tennessee and John Allbritten of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Hicks Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
