Hazel Furgerson

Mrs. Hazel Furgerson, age 84, of Murray, Kentucky, died, Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at her home.
Mrs. Furgerson was born December 20, 1928 in Murray, Ky., to the late Hall and Mary Lee Thomas Hood. She was a homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Murray. She was a 1948 Graduate with a B.S. from Murray State University.
Survivors include two daughters, Leslie Kemp and husband Hal of Murray, Ky., Georgie Peterson and husband Pete of Puryear, Tn., son, Wes Furgerson and wife Jennifer of Houston, Tx., sister, Martha Sisterhen of Memphis, Tn., brother, Dr. Richard "Dick" Hood and wife Delores of Tx., four grandchildren, Jeff Thomas and wife Meredith of England, Drew Furgerson and wife Carley of Houston, Tx., Will Kemp and wife Reigh of Lexington, Ky., and Meagan Furgerson of Austin, Tx., also one great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Furgerson, brother, Dr. Oliver Hood, grandson, Sean Thomas.
Memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2013 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Rev. Gary Vacca will officiate and burial will following the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
