Hermalene Godfrey Thurston

Mrs. Hermalene Godfrey Thurston, age 80, of Murray, Kentucky died at her home on Saturday, October 31, 2015.

Mrs. Thurston was born in Rossville, Georgia on January 7, 1935 to the late Herman Godfrey and Grace Marie (Rice) Godfrey. Mrs. Thurston before retiring was employed with K-Mart and she was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Thurston was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Fred" Thurston, who died on December 19, 2013; one brother, Grover Godfrey.

Mrs. Thurston is survived by one daughter, Vicki Anderson of Murray, Kentucky; one son, Donald F. Thurston, II of Florissant, Missouri; two grandchildren, Pamela Anderson of Murray, Kentucky, and Annette Kimball and husband Brian of Germany; four great grandchildren, Aila and Penelope Kimball both of Germany, Anderson Cates of Nashville, Tennessee, and Liam Swain of Murray, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
