Mr. Hobert "Coy" Phillips, age 78, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his home.
He was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ; he retired from the United States Air Force in 1975 as a technical sergeant and a C130 pilot; he was also a veteran of the Vietnam War; after his military retirement he worked as a cross county semi-truck driver for various different companies.
He was born May 13, 1934 in the Tennessee portion of Land between the Lakes to the late Poke and Vivian Spiceland Phillips; in addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by one sister, Hilda G. Cathey and one brother, Jessey B. Philips.
He is survived by his wife Donna Phillips of Murray, Kentucky; two daughters, Deborah Yarbrough of South Haven, Mississippi and Starrie Underwood of Lebanon, Oregon; one step daughter, Bobby LaDonna Quintanilla of Reseda, California; one son, Rex Coy Phillips of Spokane, Washington; two step sons, Mark Dunn of Lancaster, California and Alan Dunn of West Covina California; several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 22, 2013 in the Murray City Cemetery. Jason Hart will officiate.
