Mr. Homer Ray Elkins, age 87, of Dexter, Kentucky died at his home on Friday, April 15, 2016.
Mr. Elkins was born in Calloway County, Kentucky on March 11, 1929 to the late Dallas Ruby Elkins and Lois Pritchett Elkins. Mr. Elkins worked at Tappan Manufacturing and later retired from the Calloway County Road Department. He was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ.
Mr. Elkins is survived by his wife Darlene Elkins, to whom he married on October 2, 1948 in Mayfield, Kentucky; one daughter, Gail Griffin of Almo, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Ginger Pittman (Cliff), Aleshia Banks (Mitch Craig), Monica Spiceland (Daniel) and Mandy Underwood (Brooks); as well as seven great grandchildren, Tyler Pittman, Abby Pittman, Ezra Banks, Brooklynn Underwood, Kamden Underwood, Danica Spiceland and Dallis Spiceland.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Dexter Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
