Hugh Allen Leslie, of Murray, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2025, holding the hands of his beloved wife and daughter. He was 56 years old
Allen was born on March 18, 1969, in Murray, Kentucky, to Larry and Carolyn Leslie. He graduated from Calloway County High School in 1987 and from the former Institute of Electronic Technology in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bill Leslie; his sister, Beth Fielder; and his grandparents, Hugh and Imogene Palmer and Roy and Ruby Jo Leslie.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Michelle Leslie, also of Murray, Kentucky; his beloved daughter, Tara Gardner (Christian) of Cayce, Kentucky; his aunt and uncle, Dan and Aileen Leslie of Kirksey, Kentucky; his aunt, Cynthia Leslie of Hazel, Kentucky; along with several nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.
For 27 years, Allen worked as an electronic engineer at Sportable Scoreboards. He truly loved his work and the people alongside him, and as his health declined, he longed for the day he could return to it. In his final months, he fought valiantly to regain his strength, driven by his love for his family and church, and by his desire to once again do the work he enjoyed so much.
Allen was a man of unwavering faith in the Lord, who found joy in the simple but profound gifts of life: being present with his family, taking pride in a job well done, and showing kindness to those around him. His greatest happiness came from being a husband and a father, and his steady love and devotion will be the legacy his family carries forward.
He was a deacon at North Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Murray, Kentucky, where he valued serving his church family in various capacities, worship and fellowship.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Bro. Sammy Cunningham officiating.
