Hyland K. Darnell

Mr. Hyland K. Darnell, age 86, of Murray, Kentucky, died at his home on Thursday, December 27, 2018.

Mr. Darnell was born in Graves County, Kentucky on February 3, 1932 to the late Jesse Darnell and Iva (Pea) Darnell. Mr. Darnell was a longtime farmer and a retired employee of the Peoples Bank. He was a member of the Coldwater Church of Christ and was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Darnell was preceded in death by three sisters, Laverne Lamb, Reba Lamb and Treva Sellars.

Mr. Darnell is survived by his wife, Norma Darnell of Murray, Kentucky, to whom he married on July 12, 1952 in Corinth, Mississippi; three daughters, Sharon Bundy and husband Larry of Henderson, Kentucky, Karen Brummitte and husband Keith of Benton, Kentucky and Kimberly Scott and husband Chris of Murray, Kentucky; one brother, Prentice Darnell of Murray, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Monica Marshall and husband Thomas of Murray, Kentucky, Amy Chancellor and husband Michael of Louisville, Kentucky, Lisa Raine and husband Kevin of Henderson, Tennessee and Kristen Scott of Murray, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, McKinley Marshall of Murray, Kentucky and Benjamin Raine of Henderson, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Luke Puckett officiating. Burial will follow in the Coldwater Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
