I Wells Purdom

Mr. I. Wells Purdom, Jr., 73 of Murray, Kentucky died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Mr. Purdom was born in Calloway Co., Kentucky on February 1, 1939 to the late Issac Wells Purdom, Sr. and Alice Belote Purdom. Mr. Purdom owned and operated Purdom Motors in Murray for 38 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Purdom was preceded in death by one brother, John Neal Purdom.
Mr. Purdom is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Purdom of Murray; one daughter, Allyson Paige Purdom of Nashville, Tennessee; two sons, I. Wells "Tripp" Purdom, III and wife Allyson of Paducah, Kentucky and John Nix Purdom and wife Sherry of Murray, Kentucky; one sister, Patsy Purdom Miller and husband Tim of Murray, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Allyson Paige Purdom and John Wells Purdom both of Paducah, Kentucky, Chandler Ray Purdom and Meredith Kay Purdom both of Murray, Kentucky and Shee' Riley Purdom of New Jersey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery with Rev. Rick Dye officiating. Entombment to follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
