Irene Elizabeth Knight

Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Scott Knight, age 95, of Murray, Kentucky, died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Knight was born on May 16, 1921 in Golden Pond, Kentucky to the late James Scott and Lena Lloyd Garner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Flint Baptist Church.
Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lee Knight; infant daughter, Mary Lea Knight; three grandsons, Michael Steven Birdsong, John Trevor Knight, and Malachi L. Fortner; and one great grandson, Jerry Wade Birdsong.
Survivors include four daughters, Margie Birdsong of Almo, Kentucky, Kathy Faria and husband Floyd of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Rita Fortner of Murray, Kentucky, and Shannon Norsworthy and husband Jimmy of Murray, Kentucky; three sons, Jimmy Knight and wife Theresa of Murray, Kentucky, Joe Knight and wife Karyn of Princeton, Kentucky, and John (Johnny) L. Knight and wife Patricia of Murray, Kentucky; as well as seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and thirteen great great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., September 2, 2016 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Bro. Glenn Cope will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dixon Cemetery in L.B.L. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
