Mr. Jackie “Jack” Edward Vaughn, age 77, of Murray, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Vaughn was born on September 27, 1947, in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Claude Edward Vaughn and Annie (Cole) Vaughn. He was a retired self-employed plumber and was a United States Navy-Seabee Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Vaughn was a lifetime member of the VFW, member of the American Legion Post #73, and lifetime member of the VVA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, JoAnn Humphreys.
Survivors include his wife, Suzette (Johnson) Vaughn of Murray, Kentucky; they married on March 18, 1970, in Henry County, Tennessee; one daughter, Gidget Pettibon and husband Michael of Wichita Falls, Texas; three grandchildren, Timothy Smith and wife Fontana of Norfolk, Virginia, Nicholas Smith and wife Aireann of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Ethan Pettibon of Wichita Falls, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Mia and Leo Smith both of Norfolk, Virginia and Gidget Smith of Wichita Falls, Texas; as well as family friends, Lucas Chesnut of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Carmen Koehn and Robbie Marquardt both of Murray, Kentucky.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with John Dale and Bro. Sammy Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Active pallbearers will be Robbie Marquardt, Jimmie Miller, Jackie Canady, Cody Starks, Jamie Vance, and Ted Braddock. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Tidwell, Greg Williams, Hal Nance, Sam Warner, Dickie Farley, and Adam Carver.
