Mr. James Hafford "Happy" Bynum, age 69, of Almo, Kentucky, died, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Murray Calloway County Hospital.
He was retired from Bynum Construction; he was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
He was born in Murray, Kentucky June 17, 1942 to Mary Grace Lee Bynum and the late Roy Bynum; in addition to his father he is also preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Bynum.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Wilson Bynum of Almo, Kentucky in whom he was married on October 24, 1960 in New Madrid, Missouri; his mother, Mary Grace Bynum of Murray, Kentucky; two daughters, Brigitte Ray and husband Tim of Almo, Kentucky, Gina Hurst and husband Bobby of Kirksey, Kentucky; one brother, Harold Bynum and wife Mary of Murray, Kentucky; one grandchild, Brittany Overbey and husband Kelly of Almo, Kentucky; one great grandchild, Leighton Overbey of Almo, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Clendenen and Rev. Jason Jones will officiate with entombment to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 4:00 – 8:00 at the funeral home.
