Mr. James E. Foster, age 89, of Murray, Kentucky died at his home on Friday, March 01, 2019.
Mr. Foster was born on April 24, 1929 in Mississippi. Mr. Foster worked for Kroger as a head meat cutter for 34 years, while working in Memphis, Tennessee for most of his career and later retiring from Kroger in Helena, Arkansas. He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church and had previously served as a Deacon. Mr. Foster was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Foster is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Edward Foster and Bessie Lee Foster Arnold; two sisters, Bessie Lee and Carolyn; and by one brother, Ralph. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Lee Foster of Murray, whom he married on October 28, 1951 in Mississippi; two daughters, Susan Burcham and husband Ted of Dexter, Kentucky and Sherry Walters and husband Lloyd of Cordova, Tennessee; one son, Edward Lee Foster and wife Karey of Heber Springs, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Chris Parker, Cameron Parker, Shaun Parker, Justin Burcham, Kevin Burcham, Shannon Bolton and Myra Ravalli; and 12 great-grandchildren, C.J. Parker, Charlie Jane Parker, Caroline Burcham, Nicholai Paul Burcham, Austin Burcham, Laynie Lynn Burcham, Josiah Bolton, Levi James Bolton, Thomas Bolton, Trinity Mills, Emerson Ravalli and Nathan Ravalli.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Ellis and Rev. Glynn Orr officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. A graveside service and burial will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Memory Hill Gardens in Memphis, Tennessee.
