Mr. James "Jim" Hart, Jr., age 91 of Dyersburg, Tennessee formerly of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare – Dyersburg Regional Hospital in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Mr. Hart was born in Dyer County, Tennessee on June 14, 1926 to the late James Hart, Sr. and Zilphia (Hart) Hart.
In addition to his parents Mr. Hart was preceded in death by his first wife Doris (Ray) Hart in 2004; one son, Jerry Lynn Hart; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Hart; two sisters, Juanita Hart and Lavinia Sollis; and two brothers, Howell Hart and Norris Hart
Mr. Hart started in 1961 as the butcher for Liberty Supermarket and later for Jim Adams IGA. Mr. Hart retired in 1992 as the butcher for Save a lot in Murray. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and a member of the Cornerstone Church of God in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Mr. Hart is survived by his second wife, Hazel Holland Hart of Dyersburg, Tennessee; one son, Terry Ray Hart and wife Leah of Murray, Kentucky; four step sons, Jackie Hatch, Johnny Hatch and wife Carol, Jeff Hatch and Larry Hatch and wife Judy all of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two sisters, Sue Ramey of Dyersburg, Tennessee and Alma Jean Alexander and husband Cliff of New Concord, Kentucky; two brothers, Rev. O.L. Hart and wife Aline of Decherd, Tennessee, and Joe Hart of Louisville, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Fulton Hart and wife Meagan, Haley Hart, Melissa Hart-Johnson and husband Shawn, Sheila Spence and husband Jeff, and James "Bo" Conger; nine step grandchildren, as well as several great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017 in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. James Marlin Harris and Rev. O.L. Hart will officiate with burial to follow in the Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. till the funeral hour at the funeral home.
