James Michael Lassiter

James Michael Lassiter age 66 formerly of Murray, Kentucky died September 8, 2017 at the home of his son and daughter-in law Steve and Leighann Lassiter of Franklin Tennessee.
Mike as he was fondly known was born October 3, 1950 to James (Jiggs) and Marie Jones Lassiter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Tim Lassiter, his maternal grandparents HB (Bunch) and Lucille West Jones, his paternal grandparents Arthur and Mae Scarborough Lassiter.
Mike was a graduate of Murray High School and ITT Technical Institute of Nashville Tn. He was employed by Nortel Networks as a site team leader building cell towers in several states until he was severely injured on the job. He was of the Baptist faith. Prior to disability he was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing in area lakes as well as deep sea fishing. He was a very knowledgeable gun and knife collector.
In addition to his son and daughter in law he is survived by a sister Beverly Gilpatrick of Nashville, maternal aunt Betty Jones Lawrence of Murray maternal uncle Pat Jones and wife Doris of Sikeston Mo. Among several nieces, nephews and cousins is a special cousin Teresa Lawrence who was his caretaker and best buddy.
No public services will be held. J.H. Churchill Funeral Home is in charge of local
arrangements.
