James Merritt Lawson

Mr. James Merritt Lawson, age 90, of Puryear, Tennessee, formerly of Murray, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at the Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tennessee.

Mr. Lawson was born on October 1, 1930, to the late Lynn Lawson and Birdie (Adams) Lawson. Mr. Lawson was the owner and operator of Murray Sales and Salvage in Murray, Kentucky before retiring. He was of the Baptist faith and was an army veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Story and Wanda Williford; as well as one brother, Ted Lawson.

Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife Joy Miller-Lawson of Puryear, Tennessee, one son, Randy Lawson and wife Brenda of Murray, Kentucky; and by one granddaughter, Lindsey Lawson of Paducah, Kentucky.

There will be no public visitation or services.
