Mr. James William Strong, age 76, of Murray, Kentucky, died on Sunday, November 4, 2018. James Strong was born September 29, 1942 in Tipton, Indiana.
Bo Strong as most of his friends and family knew him attended Westfield Schools and graduated from Carmel High School in 1960. Bo Strong was a Disabled American Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. Bo did not let his disability hinder him in life. After leaving the U.S. Air Force he graduated from the Indiana University School of Business and worked for the IRS and Department of Defense as an auditor. Bo retired and started a small family tax service in Westfield, Indiana. He later moved from Westfield, Indiana to the Land Between the Lakes area near Murray, Kentucky where he was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Ferguson Springs Baptist Church in Aurora, Kentucky.
Mr. Strong was preceded in death by his parents, Comer Bill Strong and Amanda (Reecer) Strong; and by four brothers, Adam Strong, Charles Strong, Tom Edward Strong and Gilbert Strong.
He is survived by his wife Susan Strong of Murray, Kentucky; two sons, David Comer Strong and wife, Debbie of Carmel, Indiana and Richard Lee Strong of the Philippines; step children, Bridgette Hutson and husband Clint of Mason, Ohio and Bill Burnett and wife Susan of Murray, Kentucky; as well as 12 grandchildren;5 great-grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ferguson Springs Baptist Church with Bro. James Keeling officiating. Burial will follow in the Ferguson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the J. H. Churchill Funeral Home. There will also be visitation prior to the funeral service on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Ferguson Springs Baptist Church.
