James Michael Wilkerson

 Mr. James Michael Wilkerson, age 73, from Murray, Kentucky, currently living in Warner Robbins, Georgia, passed away, Saturday, February 10, 2024. 

          Mr. Wilkerson was born on May 13, 1950, in Murray, Kentucky to the late Alston (Red) Wilkerson and LaRue Treas Wilkerson. He was a teacher and a Master Sergeant having served in the United States Marine Corp. Mr. Wilkerson graduated from Calloway County High School in 1968, received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Memphis in 1997, and a Master of Education Degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2004.

          In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives, Janet Wilkerson and Angele Wilkerson.

          Survivors include two daughters, Tiffany Gerstner (Jeff Morgan) of Kodak, Tennessee and Sarah Kimble (Mark) of Upper Tract, West Virginia; one son, Brian Smith (Michelle) of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Sarah Crick (Bill) of Murray, Kentucky; two brothers, Joe Wilkerson of Murray, Kentucky and Rick Wilkerson (Nada) of Jacksonville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Chloe Widmeyer and Aspen Gerstner both of Kodak, Tennessee, Kayleigh Smith, Matthew Smith, and Jacob Smith all of Kansas City Missouri, Jessica Bohmeyer of Summerville, Georgia, Ashley Mallady of Brighton, Tennessee, and Skye Smith of Millington, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren; as well as his dog, Jarhead.

          A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services with Rev. Tim Palmer officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024, at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
